Team Meeting 2

Lock in every open detail before race week. This is the agenda for the second and final crew meeting — not a repeat of the first.
9 days to departure · 11 days to the gun
01Meeting Mission
Leave this meeting with every open item closed, every crew member confirmed on their role, and the whole team knowing how to actually use the two tools we've built. Say: "We've done the planning. Tonight we lock it in — names, numbers, vehicles, and how everyone uses these tools on race day."
02Since We Last Met

Two live crew tools, built and refined

Lucci's Crew Rail (Miller's field tool) and the Saddles 100 Countdown (whole-team hub) are both live and have been through several rounds of correction — pacing audited against the actual GPX track, elevation figures verified, nutrition math built in, no-crew-access stations made impossible to miss. See section 06 for how to actually use them.

Pacing plan finalized: 17:56 target

Every leg's pace was individually checked for realism (not just the total), corrected where the numbers didn't hold up, and locked to a hard 17:56 finish requirement. Full reasoning in section 04.

Nutrition protocol built into Crew Rail

Joey can now log actual intake in the field, and — new — get a computed projection at every crewed station showing exactly what to hand Lucci for the stretch ahead, including carbs, sodium, and fluid. Full numbers in section 05.

03Must Resolve Tonight
Everything below is locked — nothing left to decide tonight.
Resolvedno crew contact sheet needed. Everyone already has everyone's number in their own phone. Last names were never required either.
ResolvedMiller covers all ~7 of Lucci's personal-team stops.
Resolved — Lucci's watch is a Garmin Fenix 7 Solar. Confirms the Alerts → Time Alert path already planned is valid for his actual device.
Resolvedno self-add-to-dashboard. Only Miller and Joey will ever touch Crew Rail, so a crew-wide self-serve dashboard isn't needed for this race.
Resolved — Crew Rail works for two people with zero changes needed. One physical phone, handed between Miller and Joey at each crewed station — not two separate devices. Same browser, same session, so it's already exactly one user to the tool. No login, no sync, no build work.

Gain
A hard requirement, not an aspirational number — every leg was individually pace-checked against the actual terrain, not just fit to hit this total.
IControlledMiles 0–62.8. Deliberately slower than average (12.1–12.5 min/mi opening miles vs. ~10.7 min/mi whole-race average). Don't force position early.
IIBuildHighway 69 → Ranch TH, mile 62.8–74.0. The longest unsupported stretch (11.2 mi) and the daylight-to-dark transition. Paced at the race's own average (10.8 min/mi) — not a sprint, a setup for the surge.
IIISurgeRanch TH → Finish, mile 74–100.3. Faster than average (9.2–9.7 min/mi) — this is where the race is actually won, after protecting the legs through the first three-quarters.
05Nutrition Protocol
Carbs40–60g / hour, adjusted to how he's feeling
Sodium500–1,000mg / hour
Fluid~500ml (1 flask) / hour
SourcesMorton 160 mix (40g carb) · Morton gel (20g carb) · zero caffeine
New in Crew Rail: at every crewed station, Joey now gets a computed Nutrition Handoff — exactly how much to load Lucci with to cover him through to the next crew opportunity, accounting for any no-crew legs in between. No mental math required in the field.
06Terrain Awareness
From direct GPX analysis of the official track — not the race manual's rough estimate.
21%
Steepest pitch on the entire course — mile ~52, inside the Willow Lake Ramada → Willow Lake water leg. A short, sharp 0.1-mile wall inside an otherwise mild-looking leg.
19%
Second steepest — mile ~28, inside the Skyline → Granite Basin Lake leg (already the "brutal" tier leg on Crew Rail).

No-crew-access stations

Copper Basin, Skyline, Williamson Valley, Willow Lake (water only), Highway 69, and Homestead TH have no crew access — a hard race rule, not a suggestion. Crew Rail now flags this loudly on every affected leg card, and the top station rail shows it at a glance for the whole course.

07Tools Walkthrough
Lucci's Crew Rail
Miller's own field tool. One leg at a time: distance, gain/loss, target pace and clock time, nutrition handoff, a pre-departure checklist, and a runner check-in log.
On race day: tap "Start race clock" at the gun. At every crewed station, open that leg's card — the checklist and nutrition handoff tell you exactly what to do before he leaves. Log a check-in every stop.
Saddles 100 Countdown
The whole-team hub. Countdown, Friday schedule, an interactive trail map with pacer handoffs marked, the full roster, and a pacing-validation table for anyone who wants to check the math themselves.
For everyone else: bookmark this one. It's the shared reference — logistics, who's running which stretch, and where to be when.
